The Center is dedicated to promoting the understanding of the relation
between religion and other features of American culture. Drawing upon
scholars and other professionals from around the country, the Center
explores the continuing influence of religion in American life as a
whole. The Center achieves its purpose through a variety of activities
and publications directed to the academy and to the public at large:
Religion and American Culture: A Journal of Interpretation; public lectures,
conferences, and symposia; awards and fellowships; commissioned books
and papers; and a newsletter.
