The Kinsey Institute consists of an Indiana University research institute and a private, nonprofit corporation which owns the Institute's collections and data bases. It has three basic functions: to pursue and promote research and to provide graduate education in the field of human sexuality, gender and reproduction; to collect scientific, cultural, and artistic materials related to human sexuality; and to disseminate information to the scholarly community and the public. Its principal method for providing information is via its web site (www.kinseyinstitute.org).The Institute periodically coordinates multidisciplinary research conferences and workshops and regularly publishes books and articles. The Institute's extensive library, photography, film/video,and art and artifact collections may be used by qualified students and researchers.
