The National Center on Accessibility provides training, research, and
technical assistance to the park, recreation and tourism industry in
the area of making facilities and programs accessible to people with
disabilities. The Center is a
cooperative agreement between Indiana University and the National Park
Service, providing services to any public, private or governmental agency
seeking assistance. NCA conducts and facilitates research on issues
critical to access
in recreation environments, including outdoor developed areas (trails,
campgrounds, picnic areas, beaches), golf courses, swimming pools, playgrounds,
and products that are used to make recreation environments accessible
to people
with disabilities. NCA is a unit of the Department of Recreation and Park Administration, School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
