This Program, in cooperation with the National Center for Recreation Resources and the Eppley Institute, units of the Department of Recreation and Park Administration (HPER/IUB); provides special programs, workshops, strategic planning, consultations, research, and curriculum to assist federal, state and local government, not-for-profit foundations, and public benefit organizations. The central focus of assistance programs is in fund raising and partnership development. Philanthropy and Americans Outdoors, first established in 1987, also conducts a nationwide series of Philanthropy and Americans Outdoors fund raising/partnership schools for federal and state resource agencies, private enterprise, professional associations, and non-profit organizations affiliated with parks, forests, open space, and tourism.
