CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Call for Proposals

REVISION NOTES / ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • 01/12/2009: FAQ #12 under Deadline and Eligibility modified to clarify that Proposals in areas supported by the New Frontiers program are not eligible for FRSP support.
  • 01/15/2009: References are not included in the four page limit of the project description.
  • 01/26/2009: Dean's Letter of Recomendation for College of Arts and Science Departments Because a large percent of applications come from College Departments, the requirement for the third letter of recommendation from the College Dean has been waived for these Departments. College applicants will only be required to submit two recommendation letters: a letter from the chair or the head of the applicant's unit and a letter from an expert in the field (not necessarily from Indiana University). Another process will be used to determine merit and issues of relevance to the College in lieu of the Dean's letter.
  • 02/04/2009: Budget Justification is needed if any item whose purpose or cost computation is not self-evident. Justifications can be uploaded to the electronic application in pdf format.
  • 02/04/2009: Ad Hoc for application completion There is no way to give another person permission as an ad hoc to complete an application for the PI. The PI must log in to the electronic application for routing purposes.
  • 02/05/2009: FRSP funds may only be expended at IUB.  This clearly means that subcontracts are not allowed. Paid consultants may be allowed IF services are critical to the project and are unavailable at IU. Please include in budget justification.
  • 02/11/2009: Academic Salaries are not allowed (including sabbatical leave). Course release funds are not allowed.
  • 05/06/2009: Notification of Awards: The review committee met Monday, May 4th. The Vice Provost for Research and the Committee Chair are reviewing the scores and comments of the peer reviewers. Also until the fiscal budget is known, the total award amount to be distributed is unknown. The goal is to have the awards letters out by the end of the month.
