OBJECTIVES

To enable tenure-track Bloomington faculty to work full-time on research or creative activities during the summer;

To stimulate further development of important research and scholarly endeavors.

AWARD

$8,000 (see conditions below)

CONDITIONS

Recipients are expected to devote nine weeks of full-time research to their projects. Teaching and/or administrative duties are not permitted in any of the summer sessions.  

Recipients are encouraged to seek additional funding sources to supplement the Summer Faculty Fellowship. However, total summer compensation (including the Summer Faculty Fellowship) is normally limited to 27.5% of the previous academic year salary; thus external funding should be used first, but the SFF may be used to bring the total to 27.5% AY.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to Bloomington tenure-track faculty, research scientists, research scholars, and librarians who have not received an SFF award for either of the two preceding summers.
