The staff of Sponsored Research Services encourages IU faculty to contact us with questions about external funding. Sponsored Research Services provides the following assistance to faculty and IU staff in obtaining funding from external agencies:
  • Guide you in correctly preparing proposal budgets and budget justifications
  • Review and assist with the completion of institutional certifications and forms
  • Assist you with Grants.gov and other agency and institutional electronic systems used for proposal submission
  • Advise you on obtaining internal institutional approvals
  • Provide authorizing offiicial approval for IU and submit your proposal
  • Negotiate grants, contracts, and other research agreements
  • Provide guidance on interpreting research related policies

The mission of C&G is to successfully administer the financial activities for all contract and grants awarded to Indiana University from outside funding sources. We provide the point of contact between Indiana University and sponsoring agencies. Working closely with Sponsored Research Services in Bloomington and Indianapolis we serve IU faculty and research administrators for all post award functions, for all campuses. Our services fall into four primary categories:

Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. IURTC was created in 1997 by Indiana University to manage intellectual property and university-industry relationships. IURTC maintains offices in Indianapolis and Bloomington and works with researchers on all eight of IU’s campuses. IURTC’s Office of Technology Transfer promotes the transfer of new discoveries from the laboratory to the marketplace through patenting and licensing of Indiana University inventions.
